Pre-order Jane Eyre at FF

I recently modified the long standing FF blog link to into a referral program, featuring Michael Fassbender films and DVDs. And it just dawned on me that I dropped the ball in not pushing it a few days earlier, by bringing to your attention that here at Fassinating Fassbender, you can pre-order Jane Eyre for $16.99 (in the States) and have it mailed to you. You'll get a new copy of this beautiful film, and supporting Fassinating Fassbender with your purchase. Just click on the Jane Eyre link at the menu along the sidebar, and it's quick and easy. If the Jane Eyre DVD image isn't visible at the time you visit FF, just refresh the page and it should pop up as the DVD amazon image menu will change. Thanks!

ps. I just placed my order this morning for a free two day delivery by signing up for the amazon prime, which you can cancel within a month - that's what I plan to do.

I can't wait for my DVD order of Jane Eyre 2011, which will be a great addition to my Jane Eyre collection. Fukanaga's film is lush and haunting and despite it's brusque and short script, I felt the emotional bond between Michael's Rochester and Mia's Jane in key scenes. My favorite Rochester still remains Timothy Dalton from the BBC-1983 version because he was able to showcase his brilliant, Byronic Rochester in a 5 hour, 11 part mini-series, which is really the only way to do justice to Bronte's text. Given Michael short screen time, his Rochester was suitably dark, dangerous, and seductive.

Wow, you have a Jane Eyre collection? That's impressive. And you know what, I've heard a lot of people love the Timothy Dalton version of Rochester. I'll have to check it out. And I agree with you, this novel is best as a mini-series to allow the true depth of the book really breathe and grow. But with the time constraints of traditional film making, I still think Cary did a fine job.
