Founded in the 1940’s during World War II, the HFPA (Hollywood Foreign Press Association) was originally comprised of a handful of LA based overseas journalists who sought to bridge the international community with Hollywood, and to provide distraction from the hardships of war through film. Sixty-eight years later, members of the HFPA represent 55 countries with a combined readership of 250 million in some of the world’s most respected publications. The Golden Globe® Awards, have enabled the organization to donate more than $12 million to entertainment related charities and scholarship programs.
Best Actor in a Leading Role in a Motion Picture-Drama: MICHAEL FASSBENDER, 'Shame'
This is wonderful news Fassinators, Michael is still in the game for the Oscar nod. I applaud the Hollywood Foreign Press Association for being open minded, and recognizing true talent! Let us rejoice and prepare for the Presentation of the 69th Annual Golden Globe® Awards, which takes place, Sunday, January 15, 2012. Congrats Michael!

WoooHoooo! I can't wait to see this perfect specimen in a tux at the GG. We shall rejoice indeed Dionne! Congrats Michael
Congratulations Michael!!! <3
George Clooney, Leonardo, Fassbender, Gosling, and Brad Pitt
Hmmm, the obvious choice would be Fassy! In any event it's going to be hotness overload at the GG!
I'm so happy for Michael for this nomination. His hard work is paying off. Also, I'm very disappointed in sag. It seems more like a popularity contest. I'm baffled that they could ignore all of Michael's performances over the past year. Maybe they are a little jealous of this Hollywood newcomer. I agree, can't wait to see him in a tux. But to be honest, his best look is sporting a leather jacket and wrinkled jeans. With all these accolades, I hope Michael stays humble and doesn't become a typical celebrity. It's so easy with so much temptation. I still adore him regardless for the acting, of course.
Congrats Michaeeeel !!!!
I'm so so happy for him ! It's an AMAZING NEW =)
YEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!! Fuck yeah! Michael, you are going on up in the world! Hoorah!
I am, however, largely pissed that Oldman was overlooked. I'd replace Gosling with him. Ides of March was good, but not great. If Gosling had to have been nominated, it should've been for Drive.
Also, super duper psyched that Viggo got a nom for A Dangeorus Method! He was the best thing in that movie, and this is some long overdue recognition since Eastern Promises.
Over all, a very good day with some bloches of disappointment.
Great news! Shame is finally coming to St. Louis, Jan 13! This is great! If it comes all the way here, it's bound to come to other, not so big cities around the nation! Keep your eyes open folks!
Great news keep coming for the award season !!!
Hope Michael wins big!!!!!
So excited for Michael! However, I am so pissed at how he's being treated compared to the other nominees. People really need to do their homework on Michael's career. Just now, my local radio station was going through the list of nominees and they were like Michael who? They were all about Clooney, who in my opinion, is overrated as an actor..along with Pitt. But they're both good ole boys and are well liked.
Michael just won the Detroit Critics Best Actor along with carey Mulligan for best supporting actress and he was third behing george clooney and jean dujardin for the Dallas Fort Worth Critic ,best actor!!
congratulations Michael!!!!
