Michael at the Human Rights Campaign Gala

It impresses me greatly to learn that yesterday, Michael Fassbender attended the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) gala in Los Angeles to present to his Prometheus co-star, Charlize Theron, the Ally for Equality Award for her long-standing advocacy work for the LGBT community. A lot of celebrities find a cause that is near and dear to them, and many are supporting social causes. I have been very familiar with Charlize's support for LGBT rights and equality, and for Michael to present her an award there, makes me wonder if this is his first foray into adopting this organization as his pet cause too. I reckon his friendship with Charlize may expose him to the fight this organization represents, and his affiliation with HRC will be a good thing. Sadly, it appears it's still OK to actively and openly oppress LGBT people, and if the attitudes and beliefs of those currently vying to become President of the USA is indication of how hateful people still are against LGBT and women (a whole different issue), the HRC has a tough road ahead of them. Hey, I may join in now, dammit!

To learn more about HRC, go to its website, and learn what funny things Charlize said to Michael upon accepting her award last night, go to Eonline!

She's always been very forthcoming and had a potty mouth. That's why I like her.

She is one beautiful woman. I would like to see her & Michael work together again. I hope they do a lot of press together when promoting this movie. They seem to get on very well together.

And I too love the potty mouth.

It was funny from an intelligent, free woman such as Charlize but actually I'm a bit fed up with the jokes about his penis!

If Mr. and Mrs. Smith II were to be made, Michael and Charlize would be brilliant. I'm certain they'll work together again. Heck, I'm waiting for Charlize to work with Keanu again.

They should do some war-romance drama together, like Rachal Weisz and Tom Hiddleston in "The Deep Blue Sea", but a Germanic or Russian version.
