Prepare for a slow quiet Fassy month

I know we were getting very used to seeing and hearing a lot about Michael in the past five months. Save for the announcement about the Your Film Festival team up of Fassbender/Scott early last week, be prepared for little to no new Michael news for the month of March. Even the media showed how low they would go to keep fresh Fassy news alive - last week, they reported that some loony "fan" expelled her stomach contents on Michael's shoes when she met him. Besides this story being gross, I reckon it didn't happen exactly like that, if at all. Or maybe the girl was just so flustered and overwhelmed by Fassy Fumes that she felt light head and nauseated... but it makes for interesting headlines for tabloids to go a step further and say that she got "sick" on him. Drama queens.

On Friday, my friend Laurie and I went to see 'Shame' at the State Theater here in Ann Arbor, along with a few dozen other folks. There was no snickering, chit-chatting, or walking about...it appeared that everyone was really into the film. It was the first time I saw it since TIFF and I was better able to take the film in much better a second time around. Laurie felt the first part of the film started off slow, but she came to enjoy the movie and felt Michael did a great job and was very brave to do what he did. Afterwards we went to Starbucks to decompress and talk about the film. She told me that it was good that a film like Shame was made because it made her recall a boyfriend from her teenage years who came from a suspicious family upbringing, who displayed behaviors like Brandon did. So in that regard, Shame is a movie that is relevant and is about a taboo topic that some people really do not understand, but yet, may have known someone, or know someone, who suffers from this condition. The theater had the 'bed' poster of Shame, that's my least favorite one. If they had the one of him alone, or with Carrie, I would have requested they give it to me once they were finished with it, but I'm going to pass on requesting this poster they have.

These next 10 days are going to be hectic for me as I have two big papers due for my classes, and they are due two days apart. So I'm going to appreciate this quiet time on the Fassy news front for the time being. And lucky for me, once I'm over this academic obligation hump, St. Patrick's Day will be on a Saturday and I aim to be in the partying mood.

As per the latest on Plan B, the birthday greetings are coming in from all over the world, so thank you to those who are interested in participating. On Michael's birthday, I will reveal the birthday gift - with pictures even - and I am confident that everyone who is part of Plan B will be very proud of being associated with it. So hold tight until April 2nd where I will lift the veil off the prize like an overpaid grinning game show hostess!

I hadn't even heard about that vomit story... wow, that's almost hilarious how desperate blogs are for Fassy news. He should go to a few professional sporting events so that paps can satisfy their need for pics. Stars do that a lot (see: LA Laker court side seats) because it allows them to supply gossip rags with pics while being in a controlled environment. It's win-win.

I heard about this story, the paps said that hundreds of female fans were haunting Hackney these days in order to see michael in the street or in a pub! It sounds like a zombie movie!

@Anon, I know what you mean, but I don't think Michael is like that though. He values his privacy too much. But if he happens to be somewhere having fun and the paps snap him, so be it.

The vomit story however, is too bogus to believe.

Emilie, I read the same thing and shook my head in disbelief. When I visited Hackney in December, I did go there to see the picturehouse, and a friend took me to the popular Broadway market, but we sure as heck weren't on a Fassy hunt. But it was cool to see places that he hangs out at.

Can you imagine an actual fan girl bumping into him there. If she were stupid enough to say anything, it would be too obvious why she was there. LOL!

A zombie movie... I am almost crying laughing. Poor Michael!

Simone, here in France Shame can only be seen in very few theatres now... I'd love to see it again but I must wait for the DVD in April... I haven't recovered from this movie yet, Michael's performance was so unbelievable...

I'm in hysterics. All I can imagine is an army of fangirl zombies chasing after Michael and moaning "COCKKKKK" instead of "BRAINSSS".

LOL!

I heard about the history of vomiting do not know if this is true because somehow I find it hard to believe The Sun, but more of it than twitterach rumors about his affair with Nicole, however, that both sympathized.
Also in the same newspaper wrote that any fan knelt before him when she saw him at a restaurant.
But chatting to him on the street or in a bar that's an exaggeration, it probably does not go home by the fans.

Alas! All good things must come to an end, eh? Well, temporarily anyways, as I'm sure The Fassy will be pumping out news and whatnot as more movies get out and underway. Oh well, at least I have my number two man, Tom Hardy, to keep the celeb-obsession news coming in at a healthy rate, what with all the stuff he's having out now and soon.

Something already known or will be at the festival on March 8th in Canada?
Michael go to Canada :)

dshultz from where you got the number to Tom Hardy ?

It's actually not a festival, it's a televised awards show called the Genies (they're Canada's equivalent of the Oscars). Cronenberg is Canadian so A Dangerous Method was nominated many times, along with Michael for Best Actor. I hope he shows!

Tonight I'm watching The Big Lebowski. I saw it many years ago, but it was BEFORE I knew Michael loved this movie. Good luck Simone with the papers for your classes...

Ales, I'm not sure what you're asking...?

The Genie Awards are tonight... I guess we'll know pretty quick if Michael's there, because I'd anticipate at least a sighting or two in a city like Toronto.

surprised me where you got the number to Tom Hardyego and I asked where did you get the number, unless I misunderstood something.

I hope that Michael will be at The Genie Awards, and go through the red carpet and of course win :)

Rumor has it that Natalie Portman is in talks to play the role of Laura (Michael's character's wife) in "The Counselor": http://twitchfilm.com/news/2012/03/breaking-jeremy-renner-javier-bardem-and-natalie-portman-in-early-talks-for-ridley-scotts-the-counse.php

Portman would be a good choice! Too bad Michael didn't win the Genie award but Viggo did and it's great!I like the pictures with Viggo and David Cronenberg holding each other's hand.

Awwww! I'm glad Viggo won. <3 He's such a class act.

If Natalie gets cast, that's her big comeback role post-Oscar and post-pregnancy. It would be a big deal.

Laura is not his wife. She is his girlfriend and then fiance after their engagement.

Anyway, Natalie Portman would be great as Laura. I hope she gets the role.

Now I wonder who will play Malkina. I hope maybe Penelope Cruz.

Regarding Malkina, I hope they don't cast her just based on how many people she can get in theatres. That should be the last thing on their minds.

Cruz may be too big a name, but the role would really be outside her comfort zone, which would be interesting. I'd personally much rather see Catalina Sandino Moreno in the role.
