Let's not get too ahead of ourselves now. lol I don't have a lot of faith in the academy, but the role is definitely the stuff that Oscar's are made of! Especially if Fass plays him the way he's written in the novel.

Oh Fassy, I'm going to hate you for a little while after this film! I'm already bawling just thinking about the things he'll have to do. This role will really push Michael, and it kind of scares me and excites me at the same time!

This is going to be a disgusting but interesting and challenging role for Michael. But like Steve, we believe he will be fantastic as usual. This should be ready for Cannes 2013, and then TIFF after that!

So many actors would be too scared to take on a roll like this. They'd be afraid of their image. I love that Michael isn't like that.

He'll probably have to say the N-word so much, that it will make Tarantino blush.

I'm sure they'll go the Cannes/festival route. I can't wait to see what kind of magic Steve brings out of all the actors!

Why would people hate him after this movie? i cant stand it when people cant separate the actor from the character. after i saw Schindler's List i hated Amon Goeth not Ralph Fiennes.

I'm very happy! I'm sure he will be a great Edwin Epps. He will certainly succeed in giving ambiguity to this devil character, I'm sure his Epps will be even more interesting than the Epps of the book.

when he debut to filming?

I agree with what Jesse said at 5:37.

I will cringe every time he says the N word! And if there's any whipping or God forbid, rape scenes.

But I'm still excited to see him take on such a horrible character.

It’s so hard to see your favorite actor play a bad guy, but he IS acting, so as long as you can separate fact from fiction, it should be okay. I must admit I don’t know much about the novel and I’m wondering if it’s a good idea to read it before seeing the film. Has anyone else read it and have thoughts?
