Where is the paparazzi when you need them?

Michael Fassbender has been down in Louisiana for several weeks now and not one paparazzi shot of him has been taken of him around New Orleans. This is an injustice! Surely pap understand the high price involved getting a picture of Michael now. According to tweets this week between a hardcore Fassinator and an extra on the set of 'Twelve Years a Slave', Michael has made a great impression on everyone and has been seen at a grocery store in full red beard with some male friends. But that's all I know so far. If anyone else has heard anything, please let us know.

The Fassinating Fassbender Pinterest hit 2,000 pins yesterday! I had no idea how well the board would take off, but I'm greatly impressed. Remember, if you want the ability to help out and post pins of Fassy, please let me know, but first, you have to register with Pinterest and 'follow' the FF board.

Also yesterday, actress Chloe Sevigny used Michael to get her name up on the Google search by making a lame claim that 'Shame' was "thin" and would have been a better film had Sean Penn film it. Really? Who in the hell is she to say that and by proxy, dissed director, Steve McQueen who did a brilliant job, and hype up Sean Penn instead. This heifer isn't even a director, or a producer... she's not even that great of an actress! Also, she said that Michael "got off scot free" with his nudity. Really? She must be inhaling too much of that Chloe parfum she promotes. If anyone's been paying attention, Michael paid a huge price in going full nude in Shame, so she needs to step off and shut the fuck up. If you care, you can read the rest of her 'thin' whining at Film-News.

As I'm already making plans to attend TIFF for my 9th year in a row, it made me recall in fondness how much fun I had last year in meeting two Fassinators, one from China, and one girl from Ontario. I shall not have such a Fassy experience this year, and that is perfectly fine - there's enough stress related to attending the festival as it is. But this year, I'm thinking about starting a new blog, one I should have friggin' started years ago, which will focus on my Toronto International Film Festival adventures. I take so many pictures of the city and of the red carpet and Q&As that just wind up sitting in my computer picture hard drive. So I think I'm going to take the plunge and create a TIFF review blog and post stuff there from now on. Once it's up, I'll let you know.

Michael at Venice Beach 'Muscle Beach' Gym.
And in thinking about meeting the fans last year, and by enjoying my wonderful trip to Ireland, I got the idea about how nice it would be to see how many Fassinators would be interested in meeting up in a city and have fun. Back in 2003-ish, me and six other Pearl Jam fans met up in Cleveland to go to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame museum to check out what they had there on Grunge music and Pearl Jam. It was a Friday to Sunday thing and we had a blast! We met on a PJ messageboard and since we all lived within driving distance to Cleveland (two people flew in from out West), we thought it would be nice to meet up in person, have dinner, drinks, play PJ cds, exchange PJ related merchandise, and go to the museum. It was brilliant fun and I thought it would be awesome to have something similar with other Fassbender fans. In the current poll, I listed cities that Michael has worked in, lived, stayed for long visits, or he is quite fond of. For instance, if the interest was serious and nine people really, REALLY wanted to converge in Venice Beach, CA, we would work out a schedule for the Fassbender Fan Field trip, (example: 27-30 June 2013), book hotel and meet up. Michael loves VB and stayed there for a couple months in losing weight for Hunger, and he hangs out there when he's in LA, he's done photo shoots there too (refer to Black Book Magazine Dec 2009). And since I know and love Venice Beach like the back of my hand, I could take the group around. This is just an idea I want to toss out there and see if it has life. So if you're the sociable type, and think it would be fun to meet the Fassinators that you interact with online, as well as be in a setting that is associated with Michael, then vote in the poll, and comment in this thread your thoughts. We'll see where this takes us.

Poor Chloe Sevigny, she doesn't have a clue, does she? Even after so many years she still doesn't get it, why she's got all that harsh criticism. Because yes, it's true, even taking into account all those stupid penis jokes, in comparison to her Michael did get off scot-free. Even those jokers don't deny that he is a very talented actor and that his acting in Shame was brilliant. They are just too immature to get over the nudity, which they somehow don't have a problem with when it's a woman doing it. So yes, there is a double standard, but not the kind that Sevigny is talking about.

As for her getting all the criticism for Brown Bunny and Michael getting off scot-free, there are very good reasons for it. The first: Brown Bunny is a horrible movie. The story had a potential but it was done horribly. On the other hand Shame is a really good film with an interesting directing approaches and excellent acting.

The second and more important reason why she was treated differently than Michael is that she performed sex for real in Brown Bunny. Yes, she performed real fellatio on her co-star and then boyfriend Vincent Gallo. On the other hand there was no real sex in Shame, it was all acting, all pretending.
That's why she's got it so harsh, was called a porn-actress etc. Michael didn't do any porn acting in any of his films. But Chloe Sevigny of course doesn't see a difference.

Hey Simone,
I love the idea of a Fassbender Fan Field trip one day!
Please keep me/us posted :)

@anon 9:43, is that so? Not only was she the gf of the despicable Vincent Gallo, but she also had actual sex with him in BB? Stupid skank... and she has the nerve to not understand why, in this case, Michael 'got off scot free'?

@ anon 10:03, at this time, those are the only pics we'll probably be able to see, so in this case, I would welcome them.

Sidra, the FFF trip it's up to the readers, I've set up the plate, now they will fill it up. ;-)

I'd love to meet FF friends! For me, London would be easier to go to, but I understand that US fans prefer Venice Beach!
Sevigny is a jealous idiot (though I liked Brown Bunny).
I miss Michael :( I hope some pics will be taken by someone with a tweeter account (Michael walking in the streets of NOLA would be perfect)

I'm really really hoping that filming will go through October when I'm in New Orleans for the SFN conference. And all I have to say is, Chloe who?

I will make mine Gabriel's words, Chloe who?

@Gabriel: I think he'll be shooting The Counselor in October...

I never even heard of this woman until that show about the man with three wives. I heard about it because of the controversy. It's then I first heard of her. I don't think I have ever seen her in anything else and I never heard of this BB movie. Sounds like I should count myself lucky that I didn't subject myself to that.

AND I don't believe I have ever heard anyone say the words that have been said about Michael being said about Penn. I think he is a good actor and I have liked some of his roles a lot.

Maybe the people down where the film is being made actually respect privacy unlike the Paps. It does surprise me that they are not there though. Pitt is there and I know that his shots fetch money. Maybe if his kids where there rather than with their mom in England.

FFF! I would be interested.

Gabe, you'll be missing Fassy by several months bro. Sorry.

Paps are everywhere, like, um, cockroaches. So Louisiana ain't special, the paps just haven't located Fassy yet.

I'm glad people are interested in FFF. So far, London is in the lead. Oh... there's LOTS of Fassy stuff to do in London...

Sean Penn?! I can't believe how many people forget what he did to Madonna. He's quite the messed up, agressive person and Hollywood seems to have forgiven him, despite his tendency to slip into old ways and strike paps. I cannot agree at all with her other comment about the nudity. I believe Michael took a HUGE step doing that; female actresses can flash their breasts without a huge media storm but when a man gets naked, it gets attention. Unfortunately, Michael started getting associated with "large genitals" and it became somewhat as a joke, while a kindly one, but still slightly detramental, in Hollywood. It was a very serious movie and its too bad that Shame got hyped for the wrong reasons because his performance was beautiful. No one cared about the movie she made and I believe she feels that she deserved more attention for her on screen sex scenes. Sorry, try harder.

Well then I can be comforted that SFN is in San Diego next year which isn't too too far from Venice Beach in case the potential field trip is headed there :) I have a couple friends in New Orleans, I should send them out on the hunt lol

Chloe performed REAL fellatio on her co-star in the horrible film 'Brown Bunny'. She has no room to talk about anyone, she's completely irrelevant imo.

Michael has been put and about, but no pics. I'm happy for those who have gotten to see him though :)

I love the idea of a Fassinator Fan Trip! That would be too cool. Considering I'm a New Yorker, my vote goes there but I wouldn't be opposed to going to Venice Beach since I've never been to Cali. And plus, Michael loves NY (hopefully he'll move out here soon so i can have my own version of Stalking Stelios w/ a couple of NYC fassinators. lol) Keep me updated on what the consensus will be. I'm all for helping with the planning if you need the help, whereever we decide to have our Fassinator Mecca. We should definitely work hard to have it where ever he will most likely be so we can "casually" bump into him lol *just a thought*

Living in London & up for this idea
Although if I win the lottery Venice beach would be amazing!!

Also re chloe's comment it's stupid as well as offensive! Considering steve McQueen co wrote the film I'd say it wouldn't be "a different film" if Sean Penn had done it - it wouldn't have happened!
She has gone well down in my estimations

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I think what Chloe mistakes as 'thin' is actually subtlety. After the whole Brown Bunny thing its safe to say subtlety is not Chloe's strong suit. She used to be the darling of art house cinemas but now mostly does crappy commercial TV. So no need to take her that seriously. Oh, and Chloe...Blow Me!

I would absolutely LOVE a FF field trip to Venice Beach. I’ve never been to California and what better way to do it than with people who are just as excited about Michael Fassbender as I am. It’s especially nice to have former locals who can show people around (thanks for that offer Simone).

New Orleans is one of the few American cities where celebrities go to escape the paparazzi. How anyone can encourage their behavior is beyond me.
