Just as I speculated, announced this morning, Trespass Against Us will have its World Premiere at the Toronto Int'l Film Festival in the Special Presentation series. Unfortunately, as I have stated previously, I am skipping this year's festival, but I will visit Toronto to attend Michael's Soiree conversation event.
For those of you who want to go to Toronto to see Michael's film and hopefully bump into him, please be warned that it will be nearly impossible to meet him at the film screening. Each year, security at the festival increases and makes MI6 blush. And with events in the world as of late, talent will be protected and buffered well when near fans. If I were to guess at which theater venue Trespass will screen at, I think it will be at the Scotiabank theater. But it could possibly screen at TIFF Lightbox, The Elgin or the Wintergarden. Hell, I don't know for sure, any of those venues would be nice, but I'm leaning on Scotiabank with its first screening on Thursday or Friday night. I speculate this because the Soiree is Wednesday night, and with this being the only film for Fassy there, I reckon it will be scheduled within the first two nights so that he can attend the screening, and leave town by Saturday. Note, there is no guarantee he will show up at the screening!
The ticket sale process has already started for passes. When single tickets go on sale, it's a horrible, and stressful process in buying tickets. I'm glad I don't have to deal with that this year.
Here is the synopsis for Trespass Against Us:
Three generations of the Cutler family live as notorious outlaws among some of the wealthiest lands in Britain. They spend their time hunting, raiding large estates, and tormenting the police. In the midst of it all, Chad finds himself torn between respect for his father and desire for a better life for his children. The law is cracking down on his clan, and the decision might not be his to make.
Starring: Michael Fassbender (Chad), Brendan Gleeson, Lyndsey Marshal, Killian Scott, Rory Kinnear, and Sean Harris
I certainly hope to see this movie in the theater in the Fall.
