Michael's contemplative look in this week's TGIFassy! photo explains my feelings most of this week. I'm just waiting for the other shoe to drop any minute now. A situation that has been dragged out for far too long is taking a strange twist down a gossipy road that is ruined with pot holes and leading towards a dead end. But alas, all is well with Michael, he's doing fine - it's just the standard Hollywood games that need to run its course. Meanwhile, with all sorts of cool TV adverts teasing us about the upcoming Alien: Covenant, it's appearing very clearly that Michael's alter ego synthetic person David, is the shit stirrer in all things Alien. Due to David's wicked deeds, he single handily sets in motion the events of the entire Alien franchise and screws up the people from Earth, and their plans to colonize other planets by polluting it with black goo stuff that creates those pesky Xenomorphs. Hell hath no fury like an annoyed, lonely, vain android.
As I have written many times before, I am incredibly excited to see Alien: Covenant, and this week, a surprise fell into my lap. After reading a tweet on Wednesday, I had to follow up with the person to gather more information about the Ridley Scott hand and footprint imprint that will take place at Mann's/Grauman's/TCL Chinese Theater on May 17, and there will be the Alien: Covenant screening after wards. Then I was informed that Michael would be in attendance to say a few words for Ridley. OMG x100! However, by time I read the Eventbrite registration form, all registrations have ended, but I could add my name to the wait list. I went ahead and added my name and hoped for the best. Thankfully, just 5 minutes later, I get an email stating that a spot opened up and I could reserve a ticket. I responded immediately and got an RSVP spot. I'm so excited. However, this is based on a first come-first serve basis and it is no guarantee for entrance. So, I plan to line up like everyone else with a ticket and hope for the best. But at least, I can line up, and that's what is important!
I plan to take a lot of photos and be in my usual Fassinating Fassbender reporting mode to cover this most incredible screening event. I don't think it's going to be a usual red carpet, which is fine with me, I just want to see Michael and Ridley again ( I saw them together at the Palm Springs Int'l Film Festival last year) at a very special honor event for Ridley. And I know I'm going to enjoy Covenant and it's going to be even more fun watching it with such a special audience at the Chinese Theater!
